Study what happens when treated water is released: how it mixes with natural water,
how its quality changes over time and across locations, and which kinds of discharges
affect rivers or canals the most.
Show how river water quality changes because of inflows from treated water, farming,
or other sources - tracking oxygen, nutrients, salts, and pollutants as they move
downstream.
Look at how water moves underground, how pollution seeps in from surface sources,
and how groundwater quality changes over time and from place to place.
Examine how water used in farming (irrigation, fertilizers, reuse of treated water)
affects soil, crops, and water sources — and how those same water sources affect
farming in return.
